Dear Friends:
As folks have begun to arrive here in Washington, D.C., from South Korea and Japan to speak at the North Korea Freedom Day Rally, testify in Congress and be a part of North Korea Freedom Week, I am pleased to provide yet another update of the confirmed public events in support of freedom, human rights and dignity for the North Korean people.
The first event will be this Saturday at 1 pm to appeal for the return of those who have been abducted by North Korea. There will be two Congressional hearings, the opening of the North Korea Genocide Exhibit, special screenings of Seoul Train, panel discussions and press conferences and other events -- culminating in the April 28 North Korea Freedom Day Rally and all Night Prayer Vigil.
It"s hard to fully describe all of what is about to happen these coming days, but I received this email from former National Security Advisor Richard Allen which summed it up and with his permission share it with you: "This is a magnificent and important week -- never before has such concentrated fire on this issue been collected and aimed properly. Congratulations and thanks to you and everyone else involved. I have been deeply interested in Korean matters, north and south, for almost 40 years, and have yet to see something like this."
North Korea Feedom Week -- See you there!
